Mediterranean beetroot burgers

Vegetarian dishes can also be sophisticated and tasty. Like these Mediterranean beetroot burgers with feta cheese and black garlic. Use delicious fresh gourmet hamburger buns and your burgers will taste heavenly. The exterior of these burgers is slightly crispy, comparable to the Han burgers, and thanks to the beetroot, they have a slightly earthy taste. If you also like the color magenta, everything is perfect because these burgers are PINK! If you don't like bean-based vegetarian patties, you'll love the texture of these burgers.


INGREDIENTS

  • 4 to 5 (approximately 3 cups) beetroot balls, finely sliced
  • 1 small onion, finely sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups seasoned panko crumbs
  • 1 cup feta, finely crumbled
  • 2 black garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp Greek salad dressing
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp fresh oregano, chopped
  • 6 gourmet hamburger buns
  • Highly heatable oil, e.g. B. Peanut, coconut or avocado oil
  • Salad, extra feta and sauces for garnish


PREPARATION

  1. Wash and peel the beetroot. Grate onions and beetroot using the fine cutting blade of a food processor or a box grater.
  2. Put the beetroot and onions without the resulting liquid in a large bowl and mix. Add panko breadcrumbs, feta cheese, black garlic, dressing, eggs and oregano. Mix everything well with your hands. Black garlic is a bit sticky and is not easy to slice or mince. It can be easily pressed with your fingers, like butter. When everything is well mixed, place the vegetable mixture in the refrigerator to rest for 30 minutes. This way the breadcrumbs can absorb the liquid and the burgers hold together better and don't fall apart.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium heat, to around 230°C. Roast on the Napoleon cast iron plancha or directly on the grill grates.
  4. Form patties using the Napoleon Burger Press.
  5. Once the grill (and/or plancha) has reached temperature, brush one side of the burger with oil and fry over direct heat for 3 to 5 minutes. When using the plancha, the plancha should be brushed with oil and not the burgers.
  6. Serve burgers hot in a delicious gourmet hamburger bun. Add your favorite condiments, such as Avocado Ranch Dressing, to the burger.
