Nachos are ready like this. Fries are OK. But, nachos + fries?! Now you're talking! Taking the best of both worlds and combining them into one extremely delicious whole may be the best idea ever! Topped with your favorite foods, these Loaded Nacho Fries are sure to be the best thing you've ever tasted. Serve this with your other favorite game day snacks or just for fun. There is something for everyone on this plate and it is also completely customizable. Add hot peppers, fresh tomatoes, keep the onions, add olives or make nuts with different types of cheese! Whatever you like. Also include the obligatory Not Yo Fries, they're my joke here.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pack (750g/26.5oz) Frozen French Fries
  • Cooking spray / release spray
  • Seasoning salt to taste

Homemade guac

  • 2 avocados, diced
  • 1/4 red onion, diced
  • 1 small tomato, seeded, diced
  • 1 tough garlic, minced
  • 1/2 lime, juiced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Topping

  • Pre-cooked taco beef
  • 1 medium red onion, diced
  • 1 tomato, seeded, diced
  • 2 cups grated cheese (cheddar, Tex Mex, Monterey Jack, mozzarella, etc.)
  • 1 jalapeño, diced
  • 2 spring onions, chopped
  • Sour cream for garnish

PREPARATION

  1. Prepare the guac the day before for maximum flavor development. In a bowl, mix all guac ingredients except salt and pepper. Mash with a fork, then taste and season as desired.
  2. Cook the fries according to the manufacturer's instructions, after spraying them lightly with cooking spray and sprinkling them lightly with your favorite seasoning salt.
  3. Preheat your grill to about 350°F (unless you used it to cook the fries in the first place). Place a cast iron skillet on the grill to preheat.
  4. Once the fries are ready, add them to your preheated cast iron skillet and layer the cheese, beef, tomatoes and onions on top. Place loaded fries on grill and bake until all toppings are hot and melted, 5 to 15 minutes.
  5. Top the loaded fries with dollops of sour cream, homemade guacamole, scallions and jalapeño and watch this delicious snack disappear.
